5 Questions for New Call Tracking Clients

If you work with any of the major call tracking vendors, you know that the configuration options on a new client account or campaign can be overwhelming and often unnecessarily complex.

I’ve found that most of the time, new clients can be overwhelmed by all of the options and would prefer a simple questionnaire in layman’s terms.

Here are my top 5 questions for new call tracking clients:

1. What number(s) would you like the incoming calls to ring to?
Many call tracking services can ring multiple numbers simultaneously and/or in succession.

2. How do you handle after-hours calls? Do you use voicemail or an answering service?
Most services can route incoming calls to different numbers based on the time of day.

3. Would you like a 1-second whisper announcement to know where the call originated?
Whisper announcements are a short audio file that only your receptionist would hear as soon as he/she picks up the phone.

4. Would you like the calls recorded?
Clients can login and access the recordings on a white-labeled website or have them emailed to a designated address upon completion of each call.

5. How would you like to integrate the call data with your web analytics?
Industry-leading call tracking vendors can inject call tracking data into Google Analytics reports or directly into a CRM database.

What questions and implementation details do you cover with your clients and call tracking partners?
